EMILE CHOURIET PRIZE WINNER OF THE PRIX DE LAUSANNE 2020
During the 48th edition of the Prix de Lausanne, which Emile Chouriet is proud to sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, 8 young dancers were awarded for their exceptional performance in what is widely recognized as the world’s preeminent ballet dance competitions for aspiring ballet performers.
The Emile Chouriet prize was awarded to Lin Zhang, a 17-year-old ballerina from Beijing, who has been training at The Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy. More than just a symbol of recognition of her incredible talent, the Emile Chouriet prize consists of a scholarship, allowing the young dancer to further hone her craft and prepare for a professional career in ballet at one of the prestigious partner institutions of the Prix de Lausanne around the world.
As a token of Emile Chouriet’s support for the young dancer, Lin Zhang received a Fair Lady Ballerina timepiece, whose design evokes the harmonious motions of a ballerina’s silk tutu.
The preservation and transmission of knowledge from one generation to the next are at the core of Emile Chouriet’s philosophy. With the Prix de Lausanne, which shares this approach to safeguard the historical art of ballet, the Geneva-based watchmaker is proud to support the art by contributing to the furthering of Lin Zhang’s dance training. Emile Chouriet wishes Lin Zhang all the best and looks forward to witnessing her accomplish great feats in ballet.
